My friends and family will testify to just how bad I get around this time of year. As soon as the first shrivelled leaf touches the ground i'm crafting, baking and dragging people to seasonal events like there's no tomorrow. Last year we went pumpkin picking with another couple at Farmer Copley's in Pontefract, finally got tickets to Hallowscream at the York Maze and I cooked an American Thanksgiving feast.
The first two are events that we would highly recommend.
The shop at Farmer Copley's alone is worth a visit and is open all year round selling gorgeous produce, specialty groceries and scrummy baked goods. It's a bit pricey but good for a treat or special occasion. Hallowscream was so much fun that we were discussing our plans to attend next year as we were leaving the event. It's definitely not for the faint of heart though. At one point, a very determined looking clown with a very realistic sounding chainsaw was following us around the grounds of the venue. We're both a little nutty about horror movies, so at this point we were in heaven but I could imagine it not being everyone's cup of tea. Friendly suggestion: buy RIP (VIP) tickets as you can end up spending the whole night stuck in a line.

So what exactly have we been up to over the last few months you ask...
Well i'm still studying midwifery and loving it. I actually start my second year in a few weeks and still can't quite believe it. It's such a life-consuming field of study that I often come home unsure of how I got from the hospital to my front door, what day of the week it is and whether I have remembered to eat that day but it is worth every effort.
In late July I managed to squeeze in a girlie beach holiday to Egypt with my friend Abbey. In short: we went, we saw, we burned...badly. Keep in mind i'm meant to be Italian somewhere deep down in my genes and I ended up peeling for weeks after returning. Despite the burning though, we had a wonderful time. Our days were spent sipping delicious tropical beverages by the crystal blue waters of the Red Sea so it was pretty much a dream holiday.

Somewhere in there I also managed to get pulled into a new calling on the Young Women's presidency in my Church which is pretty awesome.
Jared is in the process of starting a new job as Associate Director at a Leeds based environmental consultancy. He's very excited for the new challenges that await him and is already buried under piles of reports most nights. Occasionally he digs his way out of them with a big sheepish grin on his face as if to apologise and geek out about his work at the same time. It's adorable.
Suki occasionally grinds her butt into said reports and well, we imagine that's just her way of saying that she's proud of Jared too.
Our Slimming World journey continues with Jared having lost a whopping 20 pounds so far and myself being 24 pounds lighter. Woot woot!!!!
